New legal agreement
for UK depositors of EUTCD-grade hESC lines now available for
consultation
The
UKSCB has developed a new legal agreement to support the deposit,
curation and distribution of EUTCD-grade hESC lines. The new

The first
Clinical grade human embryonic stem cells intended for public
distribution submitted to the UK Steering
Committee
The first Clinical grade human embryonic stem cells
intended for public distribution through the UKSCB have been
submitted to the UK Steering Committee for the UK Stem Cell Bank
and for the Use of Stem Cell Lines by Kings College London. Once
approved for deposit by the Steering Committee, these cells will

18 human embryonic stem cell lines are currently available
from the UKSCB
Cell lines from the University of Sheffiled
and the University King’s College London are now available under the Research Use Licence.
Updates
The BJNhem20 cell line is now available from the Bank.
The Steering Committee for the UK Stem Cell Bank and the Use of Stem Cells Lines has approved a new Charging Policy for stem cell lines provided by the Bank
For each cell line approved by the Steering Committee the Bank will apply its Banking and Curation Policy, established by its Management Committee and approved by the Steering Committee.
The Bank had start up meetings for two new EC FP7 projects which will help to develop its activity in alternative testing for toxicology.
The MRC and BBSRC have approved funding for Phase III of UKSCB operation (2011 – 2014) under new Terms and Conditions.
